Maninder Kaur is the founder of Happy Hearts Counselling Services Inc. She is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She is currently completing her PsyD in Clinical Psychology, further advancing her clinical training and commitment to supporting individuals’ mental health and well-being.
Maninder's therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients develop the tools and insight needed to navigate life’s challenges. She primarily uses Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TI-CBT), with a relational and multicultural lens. She has supported clients through individual, couples, and family counselling, as well as parent coaching, and has facilitated multiple group counselling sessions as well as community outreach events focused on mental health and personal growth.
Maninder is committed to empowering individuals to heal, grow, build resilience, and move toward lives that feel meaningful and fulfilling. Clients often describe her as warm, encouraging, honest, and someone who brings positivity and authenticity into the therapeutic space.
The name Happy Hearts holds special personal meaning for Maninder. Growing up, her grandmother and herself would often check in on each other by asking “Dil khush?” - a Punjabi phrase meaning “Is your heart happy?” This simple but powerful question reflected care, emotional connection, and the importance of checking in on one another’s well-being. Happy Hearts Counselling Services was created in honour of that sentiment: a reminder that mental health, emotional wellness, and feeling truly heard matter.

As a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, Hasina Barrie is committed to providing a warm, compassionate, and culturally sensitive space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported.
Hasina holds a Master of Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto and has experience working with both youth and adults. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to best meet each client’s unique needs.
Creating a safe, non-judgmental environment is at the heart of her work. She is deeply attuned to the importance of multiple identities and the ways in which culture, race, and lived experience shape our mental health. Using a multicultural lens, she strives to honour and respect each client’s background and worldview throughout the counselling process.
Her passion for mental health is rooted in my own lived experience. Growing up without access to culturally responsive support, as a South Asian woman without anyone to talk to, sparked in her a deep commitment to ensure that others don’t have to feel alone. She believes everyone deserves a space where they feel understood and empowered to grow, heal, and thrive.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity concerns, or simply seeking a place to explore your thoughts and emotions, Hasina is here to walk with you on your journey.
